Every flat-pack brand, in every Suffolk room
I've assembled flat-pack from more or less every brand sold in the UK: IKEA (PAX, Malm, Hemnes, Billy, Kallax, Bestå, Methods kitchen), Wayfair, Argos, John Lewis, Made.com legacy stock, Habitat, B&Q GoodHome, Wickes own-brand, Dunelm, Oak Furnitureland flat-packs, Sliderobes, Sharps, and the endless parade of Amazon-sold mystery-brand units that arrive in two boxes and contain very few useful instructions.
Whether it's a single bedside table or a wall of fitted PAX wardrobes that needs scribed to a slightly-off-square Suffolk cottage wall, the principle is the same: read the instructions properly first, lay all the parts out in order, check the bag count against the parts list, identify the front and back of every panel before assembly, and use the right driver speed so nothing's overdriven and split. None of it is rocket science. It just needs patience and the right tools, and you can't do it well at the end of a long working week.
Wardrobes, beds and storage — the big hitters
The most common booking is a bedroom set: a wardrobe (often a PAX or Sliderobes), a chest of drawers, two bedside tables and a bed frame. A typical pair of double PAX wardrobes with sliding doors takes around four to five hours from boxes-on-the-floor to fully fitted, levelled, anchored to the wall and packaging cleared. A king-size bed frame with under-bed storage drawers takes ninety minutes to two hours.
Children's bunks and high sleepers I take particular care with: the wall fixings have to be rated to handle the lateral force of children climbing and jumping, and the ladder rungs need to be checked under load before a parent walks out and assumes it's fine. I'll never sign one off without testing it first.
Office and home-working setups
Since most Suffolk villages are now full of home offices in spare bedrooms and converted box rooms, I do a lot of desk, drawer unit and bookcase builds. Standing desks need careful checking of the motor sync calibration. Curved corner desks need the cable management ports drilled in the right place before the top goes on, not after. Bookcases over a metre and a half tall must be wall-anchored — the small plastic bracket and one screw that ships in the box is genuinely not enough on a dry-lined plasterboard wall, and I'll fit a proper toggle or a fixing into the stud as standard.
Flat-pack kitchens and utility rooms
Flat-pack kitchen carcasses (Howdens, Magnet, Wickes, IKEA Methods, DIY Kitchens) need a different rhythm to bedroom furniture. Each carcass needs to be built, levelled and joined to its neighbours before the next is built, and the run needs to be set out from a true vertical reference rather than from any wall, because no wall in any Suffolk house is plumb. Tidy, anchored, signed off
When I finish, the room is hoovered, the cardboard and polystyrene is flat-packed back down (tidier than it arrived), and anything that needs taking away is bagged in the van. Tall units are anchored to the wall as standard. Drawers run smoothly. Doors close flush. Allen keys go in the bottom drawer in case you need them later. That's the standard.

Yes — I'll flatten and remove all boxes and polystyrene as standard. Anything that needs to go to a recycling centre is included in the quote so there are no surprises.
Do I need to be in while you work?
Not for the assembly itself, as long as someone's there to let me in. Many Suffolk clients leave me to it and come back to a finished room.
How do I get a price?
